New Jersey Fair Housing

Overview

The Fair Housing Act made it illegal to discriminate against people based on their protected classes. It prohibits discrimination in residential real estate-related transactions to ensure that renters, buyers, and borrowers are treated fairly. New Jersey state law expands these protections. This course examines the protections afforded by the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination (LAD) and the Fair Chance in Housing Act, and describes real estate licensees' duties to provide services in compliance with both federal and state law. It was designed to meet the fair housing/LAD continuing education requirement for all New Jersey licensees.
