Wisconsin Long-Term Care Partnership and Medicaid

This course provides an overview of Wisconsin Medicaid and the state’s Long-Term Care Insurance Partnership program. It is intended for nonresident producers who have taken an 8-hour training course on long-term care and long-term care partnership programs in another state but need a course of study on the specifics of Wisconsin’s programs to be fully qualified to market and sell partnership-qualified long-term care policies in Wisconsin. The course covers:

  • the fundamentals of Wisconsin Medicaid and the programs that cover long-term care
  • eligibility requirements for Wisconsin LTC Medicaid
  • asset limits and community spouse allowances
  • asset protection under a qualified long-term care partnership policy
  • estate recovery and estate recovery protection under the state’s partnership program

Students are advised that this course must be supplemented with a general course of study on long-term care, long-term care insurance, and the basics of partnership programs. This course alone does not cover the full 8-hour training Wisconsin mandates for the sale of long-term care partnership insurance. For full training, WebCE offers an Wisconsin-specific version of its Long-Term Care: Programs, Policies, and Partnerships course.
