Condominiums: The Unique Insurance Challenges

Course Description
This course provides an understanding of condominiums: the nature of their ownership, the relationships among the parties involved, and the various ways of ensuring that owner interests are properly protected with property and liability insurance, as well as the unique insurance challenges this form of property presents.

The course describes the distinctive characteristics of property insurance  and liability insurance for the condominium association, highlighting the key features and optional endorsements that distinguish the condominium association coverage form from the building and personal property coverage form used to insure other types of commercial property. The course then discusses property and liability insurance for condominium unit owners. A number of issues are involved in coordinating coverage between a condominium association and the dozens or even hundreds of individual condominium unit owners in a given complex, each of whom has their own insurance; the final chapter deals with coverage coordination and other considerations.
