Ethical Business Practices for Funeral Directors

Overview

Funeral directors wear many hats in the workplace. They work as counselors and event planners,  and they are employers who desire to run ethically sound, successful businesses. Funeral directors have a responsibility to adhere to fundamental ethical principles and must use them as a basis for all activities within their businesses.

The purpose of this course is to educate funeral directors about the importance of maintaining high ethical standards as well as the consequences if those ethical standards are breached. Funeral professionals will also learn about why it is necessary to develop a code of ethics and will review the ethical tenets imposed by the NFDA’s Code of Professional Conduct and the Funeral Rule. Finally, funeral directors will learn tips and winning customer service business strategies that will keep clients happy and their business reputable.
