Maine Core Course for Brokers and Associate Brokers – 4 Communications

Overview

A common thread found in the investigation of Real Estate Commission complaints is ineffective communication. Whether it be about appointed agency, disclosed dual agency, performance/service, earnest money disputes, incomplete property information or other brokerage issues, communication is often a factor when an issue arises. This course addresses those issues and offers some solutions for effective communications.

This course meets the license renewal requirements for Brokers and Brokers Associates 4-Communications. This course is required if:

  • your license expiration date is on or after April 1, 2021 (even if you renew before April 1, 2021)
  • your license has expired and you renew on or after April 1, 2021. you activate a license on or after April 1, 2021

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:

  • explain the difference between appointed and non-appointed agency
  • identify the difference between appropriate and inappropriate communication
  • discuss which ruling entity is responsible for each of the various aspects of real estate practice
