There is considerable benefit to the insurance services practitioner in identifying and internalizing those ethical principles that should guide his or her actions. In this course, we will examine the foundation of ethics and consider the parties to whom the practitioner owes an ethical duty. The course presents common ethical issues that arise between insurance practitioners and their customers and explains how an agent can recognize-and thus avoid-misleading and inappropriate sales practices. The course offers practical guidelines for ways that practitioners can differentiate their practices on the basis of high ethical standards.
