New Jersey Fair Housing

Overview

Fair housing is the law of the land, and real estate professionals play an important role in eliminating barriers to housing. New Jersey, like other states, has its own fair housing laws which are in addition to federal laws prohibiting discrimination. This course examines the protections afforded by the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination and the Fair Chance in Housing Act, and describes real estate licensees' duties to provide services in compliance with both federal and state law. The course also examines the process for filing a discrimination complaint with the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights.

This course meets the one-hour fair housing continuing education requirement for New Jersey licensees.
