2023 LREC Mandatory

Overview

The LREC 2023 Mandatory course is designed to help real estate licensees understand recent changes to the Residential Agreement to Buy or Sell, the Property Condition Disclosure document, and the Agency Disclosure and Dual Agency Disclosure documents. It also provides a comprehensive overview of the National Flood Insurance Policy (NFIP) and the new Risk Rating 2.0 system. The course concludes with a discussion of two areas in which many license law violations occur: advertising and misrepresentation.

This course meets the four-hour 2023 LREC mandatory course requirement.

Objectives

Upon completion, students will be able to:

  • identify recent changes to the mandatory forms and institute best practices when presenting and explaining them to clients and customers
  • discuss Louisiana agency law and the agency disclosure forms that must be used
  • describe the major changes to FEMA's flood rating policies and how that will affect properties that require flood insurance
  • state the federal "obtain and maintain" requirements for flood insurance
  • discuss the most common advertising violations and how to best avoid them
  • list the most common claims regarding licensee misrepresentation and develop best practices on how to avoid them
