Important: Candidates have 180 days to apply for their insurance license. After that, the score card is no longer valid and they have to retake the exam.
Washington State residents have a new application process. Beginning August 15, 2025, a resident MUST have an application submitted to the OIC PRIOR to scheduling an appointment for fingerprints. The OIC has an Application Programming Interface (API) in place with Idemia. A person attempting to schedule a fingerprinting appointment will be required to provide the NIPR or OIC transaction number from their submitted application. If the transaction number and personal information do not match what has been If a fingerprint appointment has not been submitted in the application, a fingerprint appointment cannot be scheduled. Candidates DO NOT need to be fingerprinted BEFORE taking an exam. Candidates will need to apply to the state of Washington for their license once they pass the exam. The state of WA will instruct them on how to proceed with the fingerprint requirement.
