What does adjuster licensing reciprocity look like in South Carolina?
South Carolina grants reciprocal licenses to adjusters who are licensed in their home state, or adjusters who hold a Designated Home State (DHS) license, as long as the home or DHS state requires an examination. A designated home state (DHS) is one that requires a resident to pass a state exam, obtain fingerprints, and complete Continuing Education (CE) hours. SC does require a resident applicant to pass the state exam, but does not require fingerprints or CE. Because of this, SC should never be selected as a DHS state when completing a new or renewal application through NIPR.
