Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Can Real Estate CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess continuing education hours cannot be carried forward to satisfy the continuing education requirements for any subsequent license renewal

What is the West Virginia Real Estate license renewal process?

All licenses must be renewed on or before June 30, or the license becomes “expired” on July 1. Licenses may be renewed between July 1 and December 31 with payment of a late fee. However, any license that is not renewed on or before December 31 of the year in which the license expired will be considered “cancelled.” There is no longer a grace period allowing for renewal beyond December 31.

  • WebCE courses are classified as online distance education courses.
  • Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes with a score of at least 60 percent before completing an closed-book non-monitored exam.
  • Exam passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE West Virginia Real Estate CE courses?

Courses must be completed by midnight on June 30th.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for West Virginia Real Estate CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. The licensee must keep a copy of each certificate of completion in his or her file for 5 years and provide proof of completion upon the Commission's request.

What are the West Virginia Real Estate CE requirements for non-residents?

Non-resident licensees must comply with the requirement for continuing education. However, if the non-resident’s jurisdiction has a comparable continuing education requirement and recognizes West Virginia continuing education credits as fulfilling that jurisdiction’s continuing education requirement, the Commission will accept continuing education credit earned in the other jurisdiction.

Are there any CE exemptions?

The following are exempt from West Virginia CE requirements:
  • A licensee who held a license on 07/01/1969 and renewed it continuously thereafter.
  • A licensee who is on inactive status.
  • A licensee who qualified for a license by passing both the national and state licensing examinations during the fiscal year of his or her first required renewal if the licensee renews on or before June 30 of that fiscal year.
