Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Can Funeral CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

A maximum of 5 CE hours may be carried over to the next renewal period.

What is the Delaware Funeral license renewal process?

Several weeks before the license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address of record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. The notice will also explain how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online. Funeral professionals are required to attest to completion of the required continuing education units to Delaware as part of the license renewal process.

What are the WebCE Delaware Funeral CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are online approved self-study courses with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through the course material then complete the exam.
  • Passing score: 70%
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

What is the access period for WebCE Delaware Funeral CE courses?

How often does WebCE report Delaware Funeral CE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions to the Delaware Board of Funeral Service.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Delaware Funeral CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. Licensees shall maintain all original certificates of attendance for CE programs for the entire licensure period. A licensee who carries over credits from a prior licensure period must also maintain original certificates of attendance for all CE programs for any period from which credits are carried over.

What are the Delaware Funeral CE requirements for non-residents?

No CE is required for non-residents as long as the licensee is compliant in his or her home state.

Are there any CE exemptions?

  • First year licensees are exempt from CE requirements until the end of the first full licensure period.
  • Licensed funeral directors over the age of 65 are exempt from CE requirements.
  • The Board may grant exemptions to CE requirements due to health, military service or other hardship. You must apply for exemption to the Board in writing.
