The NAIC Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation (#275) sets a “best interest” standard for annuity recommendations. It requires producers to prioritize the consumer’s financial needs over their own compensation.
As of May 2025, 48 jurisdictions have adopted the updated regulation and are highlighted in the map as green.
