How to Renew Your License

1. Check your requirements: be sure to know your renewal deadline, the total numbers of hours to complete and any specialty required courses.
2. Order and complete courses: choose topics you are familiar with and take your courses on your schedule.
3. Pass your exam: once you feel prepared, schedule your licensing exam through the appropriate licensing authority.
4. Pay fees and submit associated paperwork: submit payment of fees and any other paperwork necessary such as certifications of completion, fingerprints, and background checks.

What are the Real Estate Continuing Education requirements for Oregon?

All License Types

30 CE hours total

Note: All new licensees must complete a 26-hour Advanced Practices course in addition to the 2-hour LARRC and 2-hour State and Federal Fair Housing course when renewing for the first time. WebCE does not currently offer the Advanced Practices courses for Oregon.

Are there any subject area requirements for Oregon Real Estate CE?

For licensees renewing on or after January 1, 2026:
  • Law and Rule: 2 CE hours
  • State and Federal Fair Housing: 2 CE Hours
  • Electives: 26 CE hours
Please note:
  • Licensees who renew on or after January 1, 2026, must complete the new Fair Housing Course even if they took a 27-hour Advanced Practices course and the 3-hour LARRC prior to January 1, 2026. This may result in a licensee accruing more than 30 hours of continuing education.

  • Licensees who take the 2024-2025 LARRC before January 1, 2026, but renew their licenses on or after that date, will not need to take the 2026-2027 LARRC. However, they will still need to take the new State and Federal Fair Housing course.

When does Oregon Real Estate CE have to be completed?

Every 2 years on the last day of the licensee’s birth month.

Can Real Estate CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Can Real Estate CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess credit hours can not be carried forward to the next license term.

What is the Oregon Real Estate license renewal process?

You can renew your license in eLicense starting the first day of the month your license expires in. The OR Agency emails license renewal reminders to you. Before you can renew your active license, you must enter the information from your continuing education certificates into eLicense.

What are the WebCE Oregon Real Estate CE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are classified as online distance education courses.
  • Students must read the course material and answer each set of end-of-chapter quizzes.
  • Students will not be able to complete the course until the student’s time in the course equals the number of approved credit hours for the course.
  • Final exams are not required for CE.

What is the access period for WebCE Oregon Real Estate CE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard.

How often does WebCE report Oregon Real Estate CE course completions?

WebCE does not report course completions.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Oregon Real Estate CE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the the course is completed. Licensees are required to maintain a copy of each certificate of completion in his or her files for 3 years.

Are there any CE exemptions?

The following are exempt from Oregon CE requirements:
  • Licensees who are renewing an inactive license. Licensee will need to complete the required continuing education before reactivating.
  • The Agency may grant an exemption if it receives satisfactory evidence of your inability to complete courses because of poor health or other circumstances beyond your control under ORS 696.174.
