Georgia's Acceptance: WebCE® courses meet the NASBA/AICPA CPE Standards and Georgia's Chapter 20 governing CPE.

What are the CPE requirements for Georgia?

  • Total CPE Requirements: 80 hours every 2 years
  • Annual CPE Requirements: 20 hours

Are there any subject area requirements for Georgia CPA CPE?

  • Ethics: 4 hours of Ethics, including 1 board approved hour specific to GA Rules and Laws.
  • Technical Subjects: Minimum 40 hours (50%)

When does CPA CPE have to be completed?

12/31 every odd year

Can CPA CPE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be taken for credit more than once in a 2-year reporting period.

Are there any CPA CPE credit type limits?

No more than 40 hours (50% of credits required) may be claimed for any of the following:

  • Instructor or Course development Credits
  • Technical Reviewer Credits
  • Author Credits

No more the 20 hours (25% of credits) may be earned by participation and work on a technical committee.

Can CPA CPE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

A maximum of 15 hours may be carried from one reporting period to the subsequent reporting period. Carried hours cannot be used to meet the yearly minimum, Ethics, or Technical requirements.

What is the Georgia CPA license renewal process?

Licensees can renew their license online at any time during their renewal period 1/1 - 12/31 every odd year. At renewal, applicants will provide a signed statement, under penalty of perjury, that all applicable continuing education requirements have been met.

What are the WebCE Georgia CPE course requirements?

  • WebCE courses are NASBA QAS self-study with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through course material then complete exam
  • If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes
  • Passing score: 70%

What is the access period for WebCE Georgia CPE courses?

12 months from the original date of purchase, unless otherwise posted on the course description page and student dashboard. Due to regulatory guidelines, access to courses CANNOT BE EXTENDED past 12 months from the original date of purchase.

How often does WebCE report Georgia CPE course completions?

WebCE does not report CPE course completions to the Georgia State Accounting Office.

Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Georgia CPA CPE courses?

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. CPAs should maintain written evidence of completion for a period of 5 years following the completion of each reporting activity.

Are there any CPE exemptions?

Any licensee who has attained 70 years of age is exempt from the continuing professional education requirement. Other exemptions or reduction of requirements may be given by the board for individual hardship or health issues.
