What are the Exam Prep requirements for Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania does not require candidates to complete prelicensing education for the Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser License. However, completing an exam prep course before attempting to take your state’s licensing exam is recommended.
How to become licensed in Pennsylvania
- Meet the general eligibility criteria
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Be a resident of or have principal place of business in Pennsylvania
- Prepare for state licensing exam

- Register and pass state licensing exam
- Make an exam reservation at psiexams.com or by calling (800) 733-9267.
- Bring one form of current signature identification (a valid driver’s license, non-driver ID, passport, military ID, or employee ID card, credit card) and your WebCE Certificate of Completion.
- PSI is providing remotely proctored testing for the state of Pennsylvania. Student may register to have their licensing exam remotely proctored by visiting the PSI website.

- Submit fingerprints
- All first-time individual resident producer and adjuster applicants must be fingerprinted in order to become licensed
- Applicants are required to register online via the IdentoGO website or by telephone at 844-321-2101. Use service code 1KGBGJ when registering.
- Apply for a License
- After passing your licensing exam and submitting fingerprints, complete the insurance license application online through Sircon or NIPR.
What are the WebCE Pennsylvania Exam Prep course requirements?
- WebCE insurance exam prep courses follow the state exam content outlines. Students should read each lesson before proceeding to the next lesson.

Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after the final exam is passed. Pre-licensing course certificates are valid for one year from date of completion.
What is the process to transfer an insurance license to Pennsylvania?
New residents who still hold an active license in their previous home state will not be required to complete pre-license education or take the license examination as long as

- The license being applied for is the same line of authority as in the previous state

What is the process to obtain a non-resident insurance license in Pennsylvania?
Nonresident license candidates may obtain a Pennsylvania agent license, without having to complete the pre-license education requirement as long as they are currently licensed as a resident and in good standing in their home state. In addition, nonresident license candidates are exempt from an examination if the applicant’s home state grants a waiver of examination to Pennsylvania resident license producers.
