1. Check your requirements: be sure to know your renewal deadline, the total numbers of hours to complete and any specialty required courses.
2. Order and complete courses: choose topics you are familiar with and take your courses on your schedule.
3. Pass your exam: once you feel prepared, schedule your licensing exam through the appropriate licensing authority.
4. Pay fees and submit associated paperwork: submit payment of fees and any other paperwork necessary such as certifications of completion, fingerprints, and background checks.

Must have at least 3 hours in each of the following subjects:

Category 1 - Grief Counseling or Communication
Category 2 - Professional Conduct, business ethics or legal aspects
Category 3 - Business Management concepts
Category 4 - Technical or practical aspects

Note: The Wisconsin Funeral Directors Examining Board does not approve courses for a specific category. Although WebCE recommends categories for each course, it is the licensee’s responsibility to complete the appropriate courses to satisfy each category of CE requirements.

When does Wisconsin Funeral CE have to be completed?

12/14 every odd year

Can Funeral CE courses be repeated?

Courses cannot be repeated more than once in a 2 year license term.

Are there any Funeral CE credit type limits?

Only 10 hours can be satisfied through online self-study courses.

Can Funeral CE course hours carry over to the next renewal cycle?

Excess CE credit hours earned in one license term may not be carried forward to the next license term.

What is the Wisconsin Funeral license renewal process?

Prior to the expiration of a license, the Board will mail a postcard to licensees with further instructions on how to renew license.

WebCE courses are online approved self-study courses with non-monitored open-book final exams. Students should read through the course material then complete the final exam.
Passing score: 70%
If the final exam is not passed on the first attempt, students have an unlimited number of retakes.

12 months from the original date of purchase

WebCE does not report course completions to the State of Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
