What are the Insurance Exam Prep education requirements for Wyoming?
Wyoming does not require licensing candidates to complete prelicensing education; however, it is recommended to complete an exam prep course before attempting to take your state’s licensing exam.
How to get an insurance license in Wyoming
Meet the general eligibility criteria
Be at least 18 years of age
Be a resident of, and actually residing in, the state of Wyoming
Have not committed any act that is grounds for denial of a license pursuant to the Wyoming Insurance Code

Apply for a License
After passing your licensing exam, complete the insurance license application online through NIPR.
The application process must be completed within one year of passing the exam or the exam must be retaken.
Submit fingerprints
Wyoming requires all resident insurance licensing candidates be fingerprinted prior to submitting a license application.
The Wyoming Insurance Department will send a fingerprint packet to the candidate once they have received the licensing application. The packet will contain instructions and cards. Candidates will need to make arrangements with DCI to have their fingerprints taken. DCI will send the report directly to the Wyoming Insurance Department. Applications will not be processed until the criminal history report is received.

What is the access period for WebCE Wyoming Insurance Exam Prep courses?
90 days from the date of purchase. One additional extension for an additional 90 days can be purchased for $50.
How often does WebCE report Wyoming Insurance Exam Prep course completions?
WebCE does not report exam prep course completions as the Wyoming Insurance Department does not require course completions to be reported.
Does WebCE supply a certificate of completion for Wyoming Insurance Exam Prep courses?
Online PDF certificates of completion are available to print immediately after passing the WebCE course exam. Certificates are for personal records and is not required for the state exam.
What is the process to transfer an insurance license to Wyoming?
If you are moving to Wyoming and wish to qualify for a Wyoming license without taking an examination, you must:
Apply for your license within 90 days of the date your previous home state license was terminated.
Previous home state license was in good standing at time of cancellation
What is the process to obtain a non-resident insurance license in Wyoming?
Non-residents may apply by reciprocity and are exempt from the examination requirement, as long as they are currently licensed as a resident and in good standing in their home state.
Are there any Wyoming insurance product specific training requirements?
Before selling, soliciting or negotiating the following products, insurance license holders are required to complete the training outlined below. These training hours can be used toward the total CE hours required to renew the license.
Annuity Training

Initial Training Hours: 4 Frequency: One-time training must be complete prior to selling annuity products.
