Overview

This course offers a thorough orientation to annuities and their application for long-term asset accumulation and income distribution. It focuses on the design and function of these products as well as their benefits, costs, and limitations. We will examine how these products are funded and how they grow. The course explores the use of annuities for retirement income distribution and examines how these products are taxed.

Finally, we will take a look at the best interest and suitability requirements that attend to the sale and placement of annuities and will explore the needs for which they are and are not appropriate.
