WebCEÒ  First to Offer State-Approved 8-Hour Course

For Oklahoma Medicare Advantage CE Requirement

WebCE is pleased to announce the immediate availability of a training course which has already been approved to meet a new Oklahoma education requirement. The Oklahoma Department of Insurance recently mandated a new 8-hour continuing education requirement for insurance producers who sell Medicare Advantage (“MA”) or Medicare private fee-for-service plans.

WebCE’s course, Medicare Advantage and Part D, is the only self-study course currently approved to meet the full 8-hour requirement. All Oklahoma producers who sell, solicit or negotiate MA plans or MA private fee-for-service plans must now successfully complete this training every two years. This new 8-hour requirement is in addition to the existing 16-hour CE requirement.

Oklahoma producers who sell MA products and have license renewal dates of July 31, 2008 or August 31, 2008 have been given a renewal “grace period” until October 30, 2008 to obtain their 8 hours of Medicare Advantage training. After October 30th, these agents will be considered “late” and may incur a double renewal fee.  All other MA producers must complete the requirement within their normal compliance period.

WebCE’s Medicare Advantage and Part D Course offers a thorough orientation to and understanding of MA plans and Medicare Part D.  Newly revised, it includes information on the “Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008,” and the changes this act made to MA plans.  The course covers:

  • The history of Medicare
  • The basics of Medicare
  • Medicare Advantage
  • Medicare Advantage marketing guidelines
  • Medicare Part D

WebCE’s course is available online for $15.95 and includes the online course, the exam, an online printable certificate of completion and daily state roster reporting. An additional filing fee of $1 per hour will be collected when the course is purchased and remitted to Sircon with the completed credit hours.
