CRIS® Program Surpasses 2,000 Certifications

WebCE is pleased to announce that the number of construction and insurance professionals who have earned the International Risk Management Institute's, Inc. (IRMI) CRIS® certification has now surpassed 2,000 people. The Construction Risk and Insurance Specialist (CRIS®) certification and continuing education program was launched by IRMI in March 2005 to help construction insurance buyers, underwriters, and agents/brokers learn best practices for satisfying the complex insurance and risk management needs of contractors. The online courses for the CRIS® program are hosted on WebCE's course delivery platform and, in many states, are available for insurance continuing education credits.
The program also helps contractors identify insurance agents and brokers who focus on the construction industry and who are qualified to write their insurance by seeking insurance representatives who have obtained the CRIS® certification. To facilitate this process, CRIS® certified agents and brokers are listed in an online agent and broker directory that contractors may consult at no cost.
“We had high hopes for the CRIS program when we started it, but its fast growth has surpassed our most optimistic projections,” said IRMI President Jack P. Gibson, CPCU, CRIS, ARM, “What is really exciting is that there are more than 2,000 additional people in the program and about 50 people are earning the certification every month!”
